Increase in footwear exports

In the first half of 2019, the volume of footwear sales abroad increased by 9%, compared to the same months of the previous year. In total, 174.4 million pairs were sold for € 3.6 billion, an increase of 7.5%. The negative variation was registered in the price per pair, with a 1.3% drop that placed it at € 21.

The main countries of destination were Poland, which represented 17% of the total volume of exports, followed by France and Slovakia, with a participation of 11.7% and 8.5% respectively, according to figures from the Federal Statistics Office spread by the Federal Association of the German Footwear and Leather Goods Industry (HDS/L).
