Outlook for 2023
For this year, the German footwear industry expects a reactivation in activity, following a lower risk of inflation and a decrease in pandemic-related restrictions.
In the global context, the sector anticipates a reduction in tariffs and more exercise of free trade, with treaties with Vietnam and India being of great relevance, according to HDS/L.
However, the industry will face the impact of increased bureaucracy due to new requirements in footwear labeling or in the supply chain, which are informed or regulated by Berlin and Brussels.
