New ASSOMAC president. The italian association of manufacturers of technology for leather-footwear-manufactures
In this way, Maria Vittoria Brustia, president of BRUSTIA ALFAMECCANICA and president of ASSOLOMBARDA, a regional institution that brings together companies and industries in the province of Pavia, succeeds Gabriella Marchioni Bocca from LAMEBO S.R.L., and will lead the organization during the period 2020-2024.
The ASSOMAC Annual Plenary Assembly where the new authorities were elected was held on November 25th at the entity's headquarters with minimal presence of authorities and virtually with the participation of numerous members.
The new official will be accompanied by Mauro Bergozza from BERGI Spa and Cristiano Paccagnella from OMAC S.R.L. as vice presidents.
The association includes the main Italian manufacturers of machines and equipment for the footwear, manufactures and tanning industries. In 2019, the sector reached a production value of 620 million euros, of which 70% was exported.
The entity is also responsible for holding the SIMAC-TANNING TECH fair that takes place every year in Milan, and where most of its members participate. The technological event is considered the most important worldwide.
In her farewell message, former President Gabriella Marchioni Bocca said that "2019 marked the end of an expansive economic cycle, where the current pandemic crisis has acted as a catalyst for the problems present in the world economic system."
"The economic data of our sector for the first half of 2020 were negative -exports and production- for everyone and throughout the world."
"However, we as Italy, we have withstood the blow, registering -35% in exports and -25% in imports of machinery."
For her part, the new ASSOMAC president, Maria Vittoria Brustia, thanked those who preceded her, for having facilitated and simplified her step at the head of the Association.
“Years of significant challenges await us: we must strive to expand services to members and the network of relationships so as not to lose ground in the markets that have seen us as protagonists. I am confident because I have a staff and a leadership by my side who are willing and motivated to achieve these goals", she said.
