Starting January 2024, Agostino Apolito will serve as the general manager of ASSOMAC. He comes from Confindustria Firenze (General Confederation of Italian Industry), where he worked until 2022, becoming deputy director in 2016. Throughout his professional career, he has been involved in guiding, assisting, and supporting companies in finance and corporate law, governance, internationalization, innovation, investment policies, and growth strategies.
His extensive experience in the Confindustria sector allows the new leader to define his commitment to ASSOMAC, aligning with the strategic guidelines of the presidency. This commitment translates into supporting the presidency in defining and achieving strategic objectives, understanding growth and innovation dynamics, analyzing skill and technology needs, and supporting the interests of member companies with development projects and strategies.
Key points of his upcoming role as general manager of ASSOMAC will include promoting technologies and their communication, especially in collaboration with leather supply chain associations; developing sector policies to add and enhance the wealth of skills, professionalism, and history of member companies; making "Made In Italy" a guarantee of high standards of quality and sustainability in the most tangible and real sense; training with the development of new partnerships with ITS and a renewal process for the SIMAC TANNING TECH fair.
With his professional experience, Agostino Apolito represents an assurance in the relationship with institutional stakeholders and member companies of ASSOMAC.
The association also expressed gratitude to the former general manager, Roberto Vago, for his valuable contribution, the work done in recent years, and the values he has added in terms of technical expertise and professionalism.
