Suppliers: also facing a complex scenario
ASSOMAC, the association representing Italian technology manufacturers, reported an unpromising start to the year regarding exports of machinery for the footwear, leather goods, and tanning industries.
In this context, Maria Vittoria Brustia, president of the association, stated, "It is essential to revive investments, launching decrees for the implementation of Industry 5.0, and identify long-term measures."
The sector has shown resilience and significant growth despite a sluggish global economy and international conflicts. Exports increased by 3.6% in 2023, considering synthetic machinery, accessories, and molds. However, this positive performance was lower than that of 2022.
