In the latest report on the value of luxury and fashion brands, the international consultancy firm Brand Finance Luxury reported that the top 50 luxury labels decreased their value in 2020 due to the pandemic by more than US $ 7 billion, that is, a 3% compared to the previous year.
Despite the negative figure in general, some obtained a slight growth, such as the cases of DIOR with +13,9% whose value amounts to US $ 7.826 million; FERRARI +2,1% and a value of US $ 9.243 million and PORSCHE +1,2% with a value of US $ 34.326 million. Although the latter two have their origins in the automotive industry, they also have divisions dedicated to apparel and luxury goods.
The brands that decreased their value were: CARTIER -19,5% (value US $ 12.087 million); GUCCI -11,5% (value US $ 15.599); LOUIS VUITTON -9,8% (value US $ 14.858) and CHANEL -3,4% (value US $ 13.240).
