Latin American Footwear Forum to be held in Cúcuta in June

It will bring together representatives from various Latin American countries to discuss topics related to the industry.

Once again, leaders from the region will meet in Colombia to discuss the sector's projection in the current global situation.

The 25th edition of the Latin American Footwear Forum will take place in the city of Cúcuta, Colombia, between June 22 and 23. Representatives from footwear chambers from countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Chile, Uruguay, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Paraguay, and El Salvador will participate in the event.

For the executive president of the Colombian Association of Footwear, Leather, and Manufactures Industrialists (ACICAM) -Jorge Andrés Zuluaga-, "the Latin American Footwear Forum will be a scenario for integration, where we can share experiences with our counterparts and observe the situation of the sector in other countries in the region".

According to ACICAM, the organizer of the event, along with the Association of Footwear Chambers of Latin America (ACCAL), the topics that the forum will focus on are legitimate and intra-regional trade, the state of the industry in each country, and sustainability.

"The footwear trade in Latin America is gaining more strength, which is why in this space, we must analyze the current dynamics of our markets and look for integration processes in the footwear sector's value chain", added Willian Parrado, Director of Economic Research and Projects of the representative entity of Colombia.

San Jose de Cúcuta was chosen for being a manifestation of integration between Venezuela and Colombia, given its characteristics as a border city, as well as being a relevant cluster in this industry.

In this sense, both the Cúcuta Chamber of Commerce and the Cúcuta City Council will support this footwear sector event.
