SIMAC 2024, the technology fair for footwear and manufactured goods to be held in September in Italy, will provide MAIN GROUP with an opportunity to impress clients and visitors with numerous launches in machines, systems, and materials. Specifically, in the MATERIALS sector, the company has intensified its focus on technological innovation by collaborating with raw material producers and developing ad hoc technologies designed to enhance new materials resulting from the most advanced scientific research.
Indeed, the footwear industry, especially in sectors related to sports and safety, increasingly benefits from new materials that are more durable, efficient, and sustainable. These innovative supplies ensure high performance in terms of both lightness and strength, and allow for aesthetic customization of the product, offering significant flexibility in design. In addition, they are fully recyclable: they therefore do not lose sight of eco-sustainability standards, a topic to which MAIN GROUP has always been very attentive and on which it has been working for years through GREEN SOLUTIONS.
The use of these materials in footwear design and production is only possible thanks to special manufacturing technologies that enable the use of new materials and the full exploitation of their physical and aesthetic properties. Advances in some of these exclusive innovations will be a concrete sign of the Venetian company's commitment to increasingly technological and eco-sustainable production.
It is the new company within MAIN GROUP, established to address the need for new production models based on sustainability and efficiency. GREEN SOLUTIONS focuses on designing and building production lines for soles and footwear using recycled materials.
The new facilities are designed around three key principles: sustainability, enabled by technologies that facilitate the efficient valorization of waste in production; traceability, using software to provide complete control over raw materials and finished products; and automation, as an essential tool to maximize process efficiency, reduce time, and minimize waste.
The production lines of GREEN SOLUTIONS are equipped with machinery for the direct injection of thermoplastic materials such as EVA and TPU, complemented by a range of auxiliary equipment for material feeding, dehumidification, and automatic dosing. The entire system operates in an automated and interconnected manner.
"We aim to offer our clients a turnkey service," explained a company representative. "Our goal is to support them from the very beginning, including feasibility studies and cost analysis, all the way to the installation and commissioning of the plant. We understand that many manufacturers are interested in adopting this technology but hesitate due to the complexity and application methods of these systems. We have specific expertise in this field and offer it to our clients, guiding them step by step," he clarified.
For his part, Mariano Bonato, President of MAIN GROUP, added: "With our systems, we can reduce raw material waste by up to 20% and increase automatable operations by up to 40%. These results allow us to make the footwear production cycle more sustainable, making it more efficient and reusing waste materials in the process, something that was unimaginable not too long ago."
