Awaiting resolution on dumping
The investigation into dumping in Chinese footwear imports, which the Ministry of Economy initiated on April 26, was met with efforts from CANAICAL, the Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Jalisco (CICEJ), and CICEG.
These entities gathered information on 56 companies, documenting the increase in Asian footwear and its negative impact on the Mexican industry and economy, according to reports in the Guanajuato press.
By September, the Ministry of Economy could have a preliminary resolution, while the final decision is expected to be made in January or February 2025. Expectations are focused on the implementation of compensatory duties.
