Footwear: exports decreased in 2019
Sales of Mexican footwear abroad had a volume of 22 million pairs during 2019, which meant a negative variation of 15.7% compared to 2018. Measured in value, businesses for US $ 501.9 million were reported, announced CICEG.
85.4% of what was exported went to the United States. This translates into 18.8 million pairs (-1.8% compared to 2018), worth US $ 438.9 million and an average price of US $ 23.29. Guatemala and Singapore follow, with a share of 3.5% and 1.1% respectively, according to AGA figures.
The most exported tariff heading was leather footwear, which represented 44.9% of the total quantity; while synthetic and waterproof had a participation of 20.7% and 16.3% respectively.
