The Chamber of the Footwear Industry of the State of Guanajuato (CICEG) announced that, for the period 2023, Mauricio Blas Battaglia Velázquez was elected as the new president of the Board of Directors of the entity.
Alfredo Padilla Villalpando, who for three years remained in charge of the Chamber, thanked the workers of the sector and the members of CICEG, within the framework of the inauguration of the Mexican footwear and leather goods fair -SAPICA-.
Likewise, Battaglia showed gratitude to the former president, recognizing his leadership and temperance throughout the pandemic, as well as his management at the head of the entity.
The president-elect also spoke out about informality and piracy, appealing to the federal government for its support. In this regard, he stated that in 2022, 48 million pairs of footwear entered, possibly through undervaluation, which represented almost 40% of the total imported.
The claim to the Federal Government was so that together with the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (Concamin) a strategy to support the national footwear industry be built.
In the same way, he assured that it is important to take into account the rights and needs of industry collaborators, in topics such as decent salary, retirement and work environment, respect for the working day, health services and daycare centers, housing credit, among others.
