New sustainable leather laboratory
The Tannery Laboratory at the University of Guanajuato was unveiled on November 30th. The project was supported by CICUR, the state, and municipal governments, with a total investment of 6 million Mexican pesos (over US$ 300,000).
The aim of the initiative is to enhance workforce safety and develop environmental factors, such as reducing water consumption and contaminants.
The laboratory's equipment includes 8 rotary drums with a capacity of 60 liters and loads of 11 kilograms of leather for processing. Additionally, it offers two spraying chambers for finishing the material.
