Seeking trade balance with China

At the opening of SAPICA in early March, the then president of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers (CONCAMIN), José Antonio Abugaber, addressed Mexico's trade deficit with China.

He stated that the export gap between the two countries is US$ 1 to US$ 11.50 in favor of China, prompting him to call for immediate measures to counterbalance the disparity, according to CICEG.

He also addressed the issue of undervaluation in the footwear sector. "Our country does not have a problem of willingness in its authorities, but a lack of work in customs that would allow us to stop footwear entering the country under undervalued conditions," he detailed.
