Suppliers resumed activities with health protocols

As of June 1st, production was resumed in the supply sector. In the survey carried out by APIMEX among its members, and disseminated at the end of May, it was registered that 50% of them were prepared for the restart of activities; while some of the industrialists had to make investments to incorporate the protocols.
The production of 38% of the companies is dedicated to the footwear category, while the safety, health and hygiene products are manufactured by 21% of those surveyed, APIMEX reported.

Losses from the pandemic

According to the aforementioned survey, inactivity in 89% of the supplier companies during April and May meant losses of more than 4.5 million Mexican pesos -approx. US $ 250 thousand-.
The impact on 75% of the companies was related to the drop in sales, layoffs, liquidity shortage, lower volume of clients and indebtedness, as reported by APIMEX.
