The development of toe caps and counters is being enhanced, contributing to new sustainable proposals.

TECNOGI headquarters in Borgolavezzaro, Novara, Italy.

With this operation, the Italian group TECNOGI consolidates its global leadership as a producer of these components for footwear manufacturing and reaffirms its commitment to a sustainable innovation policy for the sector.

MILSPEED, based in the UK and operating in China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, and South Africa, has a 30-year history of producing high-quality footwear components for the global industry. Their manufacturing processes are recognized for reusing and recycling plastic and other material waste, used by leading international brands.

The incorporation of the British company and its know-how into TECNOGI significantly expands the scope of research and development in these components.

The international network of offices, suppliers, and agents has also grown concerning sales and distribution of toe caps, counters, reinforcements, linings, and adhesives, enabling the supply to customers worldwide.

Main products and characteristics

Toe caps

The front part of the footwear, between the upper and the lining, that maintains the shape of the toe-end under the most demanding conditions. They are water-resistant and prevent collapsing without losing shape. They are thermoplastic materials, easy to mold, with a variable feel ranging from soft to hard.

Counters

They fit in the back of the upper and the lining, in the heel area, providing structure to that part of the footwear and supporting the ankle. They have similar characteristics to toe caps.

Counter lining

Used inside the heel area, these are designed to prevent the foot from slipping inside the shoe while walking. They are highly abrasion-resistant and come in a wide range of colors.

Reinforcements

These materials are typically used in the eyelet and lace areas, reinforcing the instep area. Their main features are high resistance to stretching and maximum adhesive bonding strength.

Focus on sustainability

TECNOGI's manufacturing processes are significant in that all products are made from post-industrial plastic waste. Using patented systems, 100% of all waste is reprocessed and combined with virgin plastics to produce controlled quality recycled granules for laminate manufacturing.

Through continuous environmental audits, raw materials and processes with low carbon emissions are employed, respecting the environment.

The collected waste and other plastics come from traceable sources, complying with international regulations.

TECNOGI products are certified by SATRA and are backed by efficient technical support available in various regions worldwide.

In their industrial plants, the extrusion technology used is among the most advanced, featuring high-speed and automation, allowing for the production of single and multi-layer adhesive films, such as the renowned Tri-Laminate Boxtoe and Counter materials.

As a result, brands such as ROCKPORT, UNDER ARMOUR, BROOKS, ADIDAS, NIKE, CLARKS, COLE HAAN, and PUMA are among TECNOGI's main clients.
