In the context of the pandemic, 4,500 shoe manufacturers suffered various economic consequences. That is why the initiative to install a commercial footwear emporium is promoted by the District Municipality of El Porvenir. It will have its stores in Jirón de Zela, where producers will be able to display in their stores, leather footwear for women, men and children, in various designs and types. This will make El Porvenir an important point of sale that will encourage local and international tourism.
The mayor of the locality recalled that the footwear manufacturing sector currently has an inactivity of 80%, for which "it is urgent to promote the development of these small and medium-sized companies”.
