At the beginning of July, INDECOPI -National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property- announced that its Commission on Dumping, Subsidies and Elimination of Non-Tariff Trade Barriers (CBD) was conducting an analysis of anti-dumping duties, imposed on footwear of Chinese origin.
The current measures will last until November 30th, 2021 and that is why it is necessary to evaluate their extension over time. Customs will keep the collection of anti-dumping duties in force during the time in which the situation is assessed, a process that may not exceed one year.
At the moment, imports from the People's Republic of China, in relation to "all varieties of footwear (not including sandals) with the upper part of rubber or plastic and natural leather" are covered by anti-dumping duties.
