Antidumping measures imposed on Chinese footwear

Antidumping measures have been applied to Chinese-origin sneakers with textile uppers.

Resolution No. 043-2024/CDB-INDECOPI enforces definitive antidumping duties on sneakers with textile uppers. The measure will last for five years and is targeted at products of Chinese origin.

The analysis conducted by the Commission on Dumping, Subsidies, and Elimination of Non-Tariff Trade Barriers of Indecopi (CDB) determined that, due to this situation, there was a decline in domestic sales, production, market share, and capacity utilization, along with a deterioration in wages.

The investigation covered the period from January 2019 to December 2022, and the agency concluded that there was an impact on the national production of this type of footwear, reported the Peruvian government.
