Export of footwear grew in 2022
Data published by the Institute of Research and Development of Foreign Trade of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (IDEXCAM) indicated a 38% increase in leather footwear exports in 2022 compared to 2021. The business volume exceeded US$ 11.2 million, with the sale of 361 thousand pairs.
The leading markets in the ranking were the United States, Singapore, Panama, Bolivia and Canada, among a total of 28 destinations, as stated by Oscar Quiñones, the head of the institution.
There was also a 13% increase in the export of leather garments and leather goods, totaling US$ 3.8 million, which were sent to 53 markets.
