Footwear sector asked to discuss anti-dumping for Chinese footwear

Karoll Campos Gutiérrez -regional Production Manager in La Libertad- held a meeting with Lady Camones Soriano -first vice president of the Congress of the Republic- in Lima. The objective of Campos Gutiérrez's visit was to raise the topic of competition from Asia on the national leather, footwear and textile industry. She was informed that Asian products have a lower value than Peruvians, with which there is a need to discuss anti-dumping actions.

The crisis derived from the health emergency not only impacts the footwear manufacturers of Trujillo -more precisely in the El Porvenir district- but also in the rest of the country, the leader reported.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Camones Soriano will contact the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property -INDECOPI- to generate meetings and analyze the situation.
