Government aid for the recovery of Trujillo


​Trujillo. One of the areas with the highest production of footwear in Peru receives financial assistance from the State.

The PROCOMPITE 2021 contest began its first call by the hand of Víctor Rebaza Benites -mayor of the El Porvenir district-. The initiative focused on boosting the production chain and competitiveness in the footwear and leather industry, through financial aid and training, to recover its economy.

The investment for the 2021 event reached 285 thousand Peruvian soles, which was distributed among micro and small companies (Mypes), in items of between 80 thousand and 150 thousand Peruvian soles.

The mayor referred to the situation that the sector is going through in his locality, stating that the loss of jobs exceeds 40 thousand unemployed, as a consequence of the pandemic and the lack of activity in 80% of the Mypes.
