Opportunities in the US market


The good reputation of Portuguese products increases their possibilities in the international arena.

Footwear made in Portugal and exported to the US market reached € 54 million in the first half of 2022, thus registering a positive variation of 66% and positioning the average price per pair at € 36.86.

In this sense, by the end of the year they estimated business of around € 100 million, product of sales to the United States and benefited by the decline of the dollar, according to APICCAPS.

According to Leslie Gallin -market specialist and former president of UBM-, the search for new operators and products by North American retailers would be an opportunity for the Portuguese footwear industry.
