Raw material costs: The sector's main concern
The global footwear industry faces various challenges, as outlined in a survey conducted and published by World Footwear.
According to the survey, 37% of respondents identified the cost of raw materials and merchandise as the primary concern for the sector in the next six months. This was followed by 36% who cited insufficient demand in international markets.
Additionally, the World Footwear Business Conditions Survey for the first half of 2024 revealed that 35% of respondents reported difficulties with competition in the domestic market, and 30% noted insufficient demand in that niche.
