Record in footwear exports
In 2022, 159 million pairs of footwear were exported, with a value of €3.056 million, achieving positive growth of 6% in quantity and 22% in value compared to 2021. There were also increases compared to 2019: 2% in quantity and 14.2% in value.
77% of the exported footwear was sent to EU27 countries, with notable destinations including France, Italy, Germany, Portugal, and Poland. Non-EU markets accounted for 23% of the total, with predominant destinations being the United States, the United Kingdom, Turkey and China.
As for imports, the quantity of footwear entering Spain was 328 million pairs (+25.5%), valued at €4,528.7 million (+46.7%). China was the largest supplier, accounting for 60% of the volume, as reported by the Federation of Spanish Footwear Industries (FICE).
