The share of sports footwear in the international market is a topic that was part of the World Footwear Business Conditions Survey of the second half of 2021. In this sense, the Panel of Experts indicated a favorable evolution in the demand for sneakers and sports shoes over the next three years.

World Footwear -a project of the Portuguese Footwear, Components and Leather Goods Manufacturers' Association (APICCAPS)-, carried out the survey, where 77% of those consulted considered that the market share of consumption of sneakers for daily use will grow; while 75% believed that there will be an increase in other footwear associated with sports.

For its part, Allied Market Research determined in its report “Athletic Footwear Market Research”, that sports footwear will have a 50.4% increase by 2030 and in relation to figures for 2020. The total value would reach US$ 165 billion.

The positive evolution will be driven by greater use in the formal sphere and a daily life with more presence of sports activities.

In turn, another report indicates that the recovery in the supply chain would occur in the middle of this year, in a current context of an increase in the value of footwear, derived from the growth in transportation and raw materials costs, according to the NPD Group report “Sneakernomics: trends in sports retail for 2022”, and as published by World Footwear.
