On July 26th, 2022, he resigned as president of ASSOCALZATURIFICI, the Italian Association of Footwear Manufacturers, the largest representative entity in the sector.
Siro Badon was elected in June 2019, and justified his resignation for family and professional reasons, related to the workload of his company, which prevent him from continuing to ensure a constant presence in the association. The outgoing leader thanked the staff of collaborators who accompanied him during his mandate, for the commitment assumed, in a period marked by the repercussions of the pandemic that significantly affected the footwear sector.
Born in Padua, in 1976 he joined the family business, the DE ROBERT footwear factory in Saonara, of which he became president in 1986. Starting in the 1990s, he developed foreign markets, in particular the North from Europe and the Far East, having previously held the position of Vice President of ASSOCALZATURIFICI with responsibility for training. He was also president of the Consorzio Maestri Calzaturieri del Brenta and president of Acrib.
Confirming the serious crisis that the sector has suffered in times of pandemic, Siro Badon stated that "first of all, there is the humanitarian disaster, but also the economic damage to the footwear industry was enormous". He pointed out that the war between Russia and Ukraine has been added to this situation, which has a strong impact on the sector.
In industrial circles, it is estimated that by next October, the new president of the entity would be appointed.
