CEC: With good prospects for 2022


Among its objectives, the European Union will demand the entry into force of the Trade Agreement with Mercosur.

The European Footwear Confederation (CEC) held its annual general meeting on November 25th. There, positive projections were generated for 2022, with a reactivation of the sector that emphasizes the manufacture of high-quality footwear. An initiative that, according to the CEC, should be accompanied by strategic decisions by the European Union, and coordinated with its member states.

The meeting also celebrated the cancellation of the increases in United States tariffs, and it was considered that a more predictable and stable context at the economic level would be essential for its operation and reactivation.

In the future, the CEC demands the ratification of the European Union-Mercosur Free Trade Agreement and focuses on the possible revision of the Generalized System of Preferences.
