Greater recognition of natural products is requested

The European entity representing tanners calls for the fair value of leather, with respect to similar alternatives.
Within the framework of the United Nations Climate Change Conference -COP26-, it was requested that natural fibers be considered for their benefits in limiting the impact at the climate level on products, and their efficiency in this order, in addition to their cyclical features.

The requirement was promoted by 30 world entities related to the leather sector, added to the Confederation of National Associations of Tanners and Dressers of the European Community -COTANCE-.

In turn, they consider that the lack of understanding and coincidences about the essence of leather makes it prone to sanctions. The COTANCE statement also claims that producers of leather substitutes, such as synthetic alternatives based on fossil fuels, use this confusion to make unfounded claims about their sustainability.
