CLARKS announced it will lay off 900 employees

The century-old brand from the UK also suffered the consequences of the crisis triggered by the coronavirus.
The British footwear brand reported that it began with a cut in its staff in the network of 1,400 stores that it owns in 75 countries around the world, which will be extended for the next 18 months. Last year it had laid off 170 employees.
The reason was the temporary closure of many points of sale and "to prudently address the short-term liquidity needs caused by the Covid-19 crisis", they reported from the company's management.
CLARKS, which was founded in 1825, started manufacturing in the UK, but since 2005, most of the production is carried out in the East. The total workforce it has in the world is 13 thousand employees.
