Imports: decreased footwear and leather

In the first eight months of 2019, the value of footwear, leggings, similar items and parts thereof had a 12% retraction, in relation to the same period of the previous year. The amount of the imported was US $ 59 million, as revealed by the Direction of Economic Studies of the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay (CIU), based on SmartDATA figures.

For their part, skins and leather (excluding fur) totaled US $ 37 million, which translated into a negative variation of 25%, CIU reported.
