Imports of footwear and leather fell in value

In the first ten months of 2019, the entry of Footwear, Leggings and Similar Items and part of them registered a negative variation of 10% in value, compared to the same period last year. In total, US $ 78 million were imported.

On the other hand, Skins and Leathers -excluding furs- decreased 21%, for purchases valued at US $ 46 million, according to figures provided by SmartDATA, elaborated by the Directorate of Economic Studies of the Uruguayan Chamber of Industries (CIU) and disseminated by the latter entity.
