Layoffs at PARÍS tannery
Last October, PARÍS tannery laid off 7 employees, a decision that was confirmed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. The employees were outsourced workers with 3 years of seniority and had recently joined the union.
The Ministry proposed the option of unemployment insurance, while the workers suggested the idea of an early leave, all of which were dismissed by the company.
In response to this situation, both the union and the workforce consider it an "abusive dismissal," which deserves to be addressed through a judicial process, as reported by local media.
