Americans prefer sports footwear
The 2024 Spring U.S. Footwear Consumer Survey determined that shoppers will seek the lowest prices in shoes, with behavior trending towards taking advantage of sales and coupons.
The frequency of purchases will increase, according to the study by AlixPartners and FDRA. Brands will be preferred in sports footwear, with spending 2% higher in this category compared to the Spring/Summer 2023 season.
While a portion of respondents lean towards cheaper brands, imitation products are almost not an option for purchase, FDRA reported.
The executive director and president of the organization, Matt Priest, stated: “This report offers a crucial snapshot of the consumer in real-time, showing that inflation continues to impact behavior.”
