Concern among shoemakers ahead of elections
The presidential elections will take place next November, with Donald Trump intending to impose a 60% tariff on Chinese products, while Kamala Harris may keep Section 301 in effect.
In this scenario, footwear industry executives have expressed concern about government measures related to taxes, tariffs, and trade over the next six months, according to a survey by the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA).
There is optimism regarding the state of businesses and the country's economy for the coming months. However, the industry is more pessimistic about a possible increase in footwear prices, according to Sourcing Journal.
