Footwear consumption was reactivated
The Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA), through the Shoeconomy portal, reported recent data in relation to the context of the pandemic.
In April 2021, footwear stores registered sales that grew 621% compared to the same month of the previous year, where many of them had to leave the activity, as a result of COVID-19.
At the retail level, the value of footwear increased by 7.1% in May 2021, compared to May 2020, the most important increase in 32 years, compared year-on-year. In addition, buyer spending had a positive variation of 55.8% in the same period.
