Layoffs and restructuring at NIKE
In mid-April, the sports apparel and footwear brand announced a cut of 740 workers in the coming months, specifically at its global headquarters located in Beaverton, Oregon, USA.
The layoffs are a consequence of NIKE's restructuring plan. In December, the company announced savings of up to $2 billion over the next three years, with job positions being part of the costs to be eliminated.
This information is complemented by news from last February, when the company revealed that its workforce would be reduced by 2%.
