VIOLENCE IN THE USA. The sector made a call on the federal government

FDRA, which groups large footwear brands, distributors, merchants and importers, requested urgent measures.

A wave of protests is registered in different cities in the United States due to police violence against the African-American community.

Through a statement published on its official site, the FDRA -Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America- which brings together multinational footwear such as NIKE, COLE HAAN, CROCS, MICHAEL KORS, SKECHERS, UNDER ARMOR, WOLVERINE WORLDWIDE and most of the commercial structure of stores and shoe chains in the United States, called on the federal government and national political leaders, to implement as soon as possible "a comprehensive plan that incorporates all voices to make a change".

"Our hearts are broken by the continuous acts of violence against the black community and the tragic deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery," said the report.

In addition to George Floyd, the remainders were also African-Americans attacked by white police personnel during the current year.

Later, it added, “these types of events are not new in the history of our nation, and the response as such must be in a collective, quick and fair manner. We can no longer sit and watch these events occur that dehumanize an entire race".

"The FDRA team offers our support to the black community, including our employees, members and consumers", it concluded.
