CAVECAL warns of a decline in domestic manufacturers
The sustained decline in footwear manufacturing companies in Venezuela is one of the reasons why the president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Footwear and Components (CAVECAL), Tony Di Benedetto, is urging the government to accelerate decisions to stop this trend.
In an interview with Unión Radio at the end of last February, he pointed out that the share of domestic products in the market has fallen below 20%, compared to levels of 80% reached in the past.
Although he acknowledged the government’s willingness to address the issue, he emphasized that imports continue to affect the sector. In this context, working groups are being developed to provide data and proposals that will help reactivate the local industry.
