National production covered 30% of the demand
In 2022, Venezuela recorded a demand for approximately 57 million pairs of shoes, according to statements by Tony Di Benedetto, President of the Venezuelan Chamber of Footwear (CAVECAL).
The leader stated that national production supplied the domestic market with around 17 million pairs, representing approximately 30% of the total demand.
Depending on the materials used, local footwear costs between US$ 16 and US$ 26 per pair. The prices are related to the shortage of skilled workers and the lack of supplies, making them higher than international market values.
