Planning to increase production
Footwear manufacturing in Venezuela reached 13 million pairs in 2023, across various types such as casual, industrial, and school shoes, as stated by Tony Di Benedetto, president of CAVECAL, in an interview with Globovisión. Di Benedetto added that the December season did not have the forecasted orders, resulting in the early conclusion of activity for some members of the organization.
While the target of producing 14 million pairs in 2023 was not achieved, this year, the plan is to increase manufacturing to approximately 17 million pairs. This objective will be met with a workforce of around 40,000 to 45,000 direct and indirect employees, despite a previous record of 65,000.
