Recovery of the footwear sector at the end of 2021
In mid-November, the vice president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Footwear and Components (CAVECAL) -Tony Di Benedetto-, confirmed that in the previous four months there was a recovery in this industry.
Some of the factors that influenced a better performance were the restart of the face-to-face format in the school year, as well as the flexibilities in the context of the pandemic, after discontinuous production periods.
The sector ended 2021 with a manufacturing capacity of between 22% and 23%, betting on higher sales in December, where 70% is represented by the school segment, reported from Fedecámaras.
