Good export results projected
Foreign sales of footwear and leather grew by 5.7% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2023, reaching a value of over US$ 6.5 billion, according to figures provided by the Vietnam Leather, Footwear, and Handbag Association (LEFASO).
In addition to traditional markets, the sector is focusing on five key destinations: the European Union, the United States, China, South Korea, and Japan, while also seeking to include new countries, particularly those with free trade agreements.
Building on strong performance so far in 2024, it is expected that the year will close with between US$ 26 and US$ 27 billion in exports of footwear, leather, and manufactured goods, according to Vietnam Plus.
