The new technology makes it possible to obtain lighter products with improved impact absorption, energy return, and maximum strength and durability. The process becomes more eco-friendly and efficient, establishing a balanced relationship between production, performance and environmental impact. The key advantage lies in the 100% recyclability of the material used, a crucial factor that directly responds to the growing global demand for a circular economy.
“We are especially proud of the AURORA® project, the result of years of research and development, which once again demonstrates MAIN GROUP’s capacity for innovation. It represents a tangible evolution of our production processes, with highly automated systems designed to maximize the potential of the most innovative materials and ensure the production of lightweight, strong and durable components, in line with the standards of leading international brands,” commented Mariano Bonato, President of MAIN GROUP.
The range includes two technological solutions: AURORA® INFinity, the system applied to the production of E-TPU midsoles, a material that stands out for its excellent mechanical and environmental properties, such as lightness, elasticity, strength and impact absorption. Its distinctive feature is the production process developed by MAIN GROUP: an induction technology that is simpler and safer than traditional steam systems, enabling full use of the material’s characteristics while ensuring precise control of pressure and temperature.
However, it is with AURORA® SUPerior that MAIN GROUP delivers a true technological shift. This solution introduces the use of supercritical nitrogen in the TPU expansion process, a physical condition in which the gas takes on properties between those of a liquid and a gas, allowing extremely uniform diffusion within the polymer matrix.
The result is a material redesigned in structural and performance terms, with a significant reduction in density, greater elasticity and resilience, and higher energy return. In addition, it eliminates the typical “marble” effect of expanded TPU, historically considered a limitation in terms of aesthetics and quality.
Another breakthrough is added to this: thanks to AURORA® SUPerior, direct injection onto the upper is now possible using SuperCritical technology. This advance represents not only an incremental improvement, but a redefinition of production standards in the technical-sole sector, delivering greater lightness, superior dynamic performance and impeccable visual quality.
