The new digital tool called PERFITT was created by a South Korean company, with the purpose of simplifying and facilitating the search for footwear that comfortably fits users' feet.
Beyond the aesthetic factor, in choosing a shoe, the fit is essential for consumer comfort. And in this aspect, the novel system, through algorithms integrated to artificial intelligence, identifies footwear with the space and interior shape that best adapts to a particular foot.
It begins with inserting the foot into the PERFITT R device, where it is scanned in its three dimensions: length, height and width. With this maximum precision survey, the system determines the shape of the foot and the data can be stored on a smartphone, tablet or computer. In 3 seconds the measurement of the foot is completed and immediately the screen shows the results.
The operation continues with the PERFITT S device, in charge of measuring the volume and internal shape of the shoe, by scanning the interior.
Once the data has been collected by PERFITT R and S, they are prepared by PERFITT AI, through artificial intelligence, recommending the appropriate footwear for each foot, according to function, brand or models of footwear.
The greater performance of the system offers advantages to the commercial chains or footwear brands that work with a customer database, where the anthropometric measurements of the feet of each one appear. Thus, the points of sale may have a direct and periodic relationship with their customers in order to communicate promotions, special offers, etc. attending to the personal measurements of each buyer. For the large international footwear brands, it will be a valuable tool for creating their own customer databases, which can even be useful to plan productions. Thus, for consumers, purchases will be facilitated, taking into account that the seller has “their” fit and can recommend the right product. In this sense, the system is very useful for online purchases, to ensure the user the highest precision of footwear.
Its use and practice also allow to increase customer loyalty.
For consumers, shopping times are greatly reduced and they can return home with the shoe of perfect fit. For stores, the times of try on footwear are reduced, as sellers avoid permanent back and forth to the warehouse in search of different models and sizes. Also, returns are significantly reduced.
