DIADORA and ATHIX begin to be produced in Argentina

According to what was published in different local media, BICONTINENTAR FOOTWEAR TECHNOLOGIES, which at the end of 2020 acquired PERCHET ARGENTINA, a subsidiary of the Brazilian PAQUETÁ, which manufactured ADIDAS in Chivilcoy, Buenos Aires province, signed an agreement with Calzados BLANCO of Rosario, Santa Fe, for the production of the brands DIADORA and ATHIX.

Calzados BLANCO has 30 years of experience in the commercialization of footwear, with headquarters and two manufacturing plants in Rosario, as well as offices in Buenos Aires. Since 2011, he has been a DIADORA licensee and develope its own brand ATHIX, the official clothing for referees in Argentine soccer. The company also imports Brazilian brands, such as KIDY and VIA MARTE.

According to executives of Calzados BLANCO, the agreement with BICONTINENTAR will allow them to increase their current production from 800 thousand pairs per year to 1.3 million. The decision was made to have enough stock to meet the growth of domestic consumption in Argentina, in this product range; and to the scarcity of import quotas.

The outsourcing contract between both parties will have an initial duration of two years, and the supply of materials and components will be in charge of Calzados BLANCO.

The new agreement will allow the incorporation of personnel in the two companies.

For its part, BICONTINENTAR, which has started with the manufacture of NEW BALANCE and JOMA sneakers, and the possibility of adding SALOMON, adds two important brands to its production portfolio, which will consolidate their plan to reincorporate workers who were laid off from PAQUETÁ.
