All of the shares of Curtiembres Fonseca S. A. based in Lanús, Buenos Aires, was taken over by a major local group. The new president of the Board of Directors, Raul Zylbersztein, with extensive experience in manufacturing, announced that he will retain the current management team. The company with almost 70 years of experience is one of the most important in the domestic market and maintain exports to the US, Asia and Europe.
The outgoing administration, led by Fred Chaoul and Fernando Beverstein, announced in a statement that the transfer of the shares had as a priority to ensure the continuity of operations, respecting the contracts with its customers and suppliers, and maintaining jobs. He also noted his satisfaction because "the company continues to be an industry with national capital and that the objective continues to be to produce and grow."
Speaking of their staff, they highlighted that this is "a new challenge for everyone, a great opportunity to show what we know how to do, trust our company and our skills, be more of a team and adapt to new challenges."
For his part, Raúl Zylbersztein announced his goal of continuing to meet the very high standards of quality and reliability that made Curtiembres Fonseca an important player in the global leather industry.
Fonseca currently produces over 1,000,000 hides a year for the automotive, handbags and footwear Lanus industrial plant of 70,000 m2 industry. The new team of investors will help the company to grow this volume and expand the business together with its traditional and new clients.
Founded in 1954, Curtiembres Argentina Fonseca is a leading company in the production of finished and semifinished leathers for different industries. In 2012 it obtained an environmental certification from the Leather Working Group (LWG), which was added to the quality management system (ISO 9001: 2008), ISO TS 16949: 2009, and the certification of its environmental management system (ISO 14001: 2004).
