APLF Fair: in 2022, it moves from Hong Kong to Dubai

After consulting the sector, the organization decided to change the location, which offers several advantages.

Dubai will be the next meeting point for APLF exhibitors and visitors.
Between Wednesday 30th, Thursday 31st March and Friday 1st April 2022, APLF Leather and Materials+ will take place at the Dubai World Trade Center, thus moving to the United Arab Emirates and leaving Hong Kong as the venue of the fairs.

For its part, Fashion Access will also be integrated into this particular edition of APLF in Dubai, as reported from the organization of the events.

The promoters of the fairs inquired about the support for this decision, with which they carried out a survey of countries such as Italy, Germany, France, the United States, Brazil, Korea, India and Japan, of great importance among exhibitors.

They also took into account that the Prevention and Control of Disease Ordinance will extend the regulations in force until March 31st, as reported last August by the Hong Kong Government. In this sense, government regulations impose quarantine and tests for those who enter Hong Kong, impacting on the participation of visitors and exhibitors.

The benefits of the host city

APLF can also benefit from Dubai, thanks to its location between Asia and Europe. The city receives direct flights and connections from Europe, the United States, Asia, the Middle East, South America and Africa.

For their part, 98,1% of the inhabitants of the United Arab Emirates are already vaccinated and in July 2020 the opening to foreign tourism was made in Dubai.

Expectations from APLF

For the director of APLF -Frank Boehly-, “the industry needs APLF as an annual platform and our proactive decision to move the fairs from Hong Kong to Dubai shows our determination to continue serving the global leather industries. I am sure that with everyone's support, both our exhibitors and our buyers will have the same satisfaction, if not greater, than what they have experienced in the past in Hong Kong”.
