EXICAL made its central location count, welcoming buyers from all over the country
The Footwear Exhibition of the Central Region took place from February 17th to 19th at the Forja Events Center in Córdoba.
Organized by the Footwear Chambers of Córdoba and Santa Fe, the fair served as a meeting point to showcase national footwear and leather goods collections for the Fall/Winter 2024 season. This time, EXICAL brought together 147 exhibitors, including regular participating companies and those showcasing their products for the first time. Most came from Buenos Aires and the province, as well as Córdoba and Santa Fe.
At this edition of the show, exhibitors were closely monitoring market developments, especially given the tense political, economic, and social scenario. In this context, initial shoe sales were related to limited consumer demand. Thus, businesses and orders reflected caution and prudence until the situation normalizes.
The exhibition proposal was complemented by the ecological footwear lines created and displayed by designers Candela Fruci and Eugenia Blanco, joining the trend of circular economy and Eco Fashion.
Regarding visitors, there was a good turnout from various parts of the country. The reality for traders focused on the remainder of last season's stock and predictions of low sales for the next season, limiting the possibilities of assuming commitments.
EXICAL had the presence of representatives from peer institutions and the Ministry of Justice and Labor, as well as the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Mining of the province.
During his visit, Omar Sereno -Secretary of Labor- stated: "It is a very important fair that aims to generate greater productivity and competitiveness in the sector," as reported by the Government of Córdoba.
"It is important to showcase the footwear industry. The effort made twice a year to generate business with traders from all over the country. Within the difficult situation that we all know, here we are trying to move forward," said Miguel Hames -President of the Chamber of the Footwear Industry in Córdoba and Vice President of the Argentine Footwear Federation-.
The second meeting of the year is scheduled for July, on days to be confirmed, for the presentation of proposals for Spring/Summer 2024-2025.
Additionally, the organization also announced that the collections for the current season can still be viewed on the EXICAL DIGITAL online platform.
