In the official statement distributed by FENAC authorities to national and international press media, it is mentioned that given the delicate moment that the leather and footwear sector is going through in Brazil, due to the pandemic, it was decided to definitively suspend the announced edition to be held on May 4, 5 and 6, to postpone it to March 8, 9 and 10, 2022.
"In recent weeks, contrary to what was expected, the situation of the pandemic in Brazil worsened a lot and we have never come so close to a true collapse of national public health," the official announcement noted in one of its paragraphs.
“Conducting a fair and participating in it requires planning, time and everyone's commitment to create a unique moment with great results. We are sure that in-person events are essential for the realization of good business and our main objective is to carry out safe fairs that provide an excellent experience for all ”.
"As the pandemic continues around the world, we still have serious health problems and restrictions on domestic and especially international travel, which will not allow the true prestige FIMEC must have at its 45th uninterrupted edition, we had to make a difficult decision"
"Based on these premises, supported by sectoral entities and the approval of the Administrative Council of FENAC S.A. we decided jointly conducting FIMEC only in 2022. So the show will resume its activities on 8, 9 and 10 March 2022. With this change we aim to score in FIMEC 2022 the great reunion of the sector of leather and footwear with the presence of thousands of visitors from all over the world ”.
