CONFIRMED. MICAM will be in September in Milan.
In the latest press release by MICAM, the organizing entity communicated that "the world’s most important footwear show is proceeding."
The organization reported that through surveys, “80% of shoe manufacturers have directly suffered the impact of the global emergency caused by Covid-19, but the industry is determined to start again. 75% of the Italian and international companies surveyed see the fair as a key to relaunch the industry”.
The next edition of MICAM will take place on September 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 2020, at Fiera Milano Rho, in Milan, Italy.
Siro Badon, president of ASSOCALZATURIFICI -Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers- and MICAM, said "the fair is essential to support a fundamental sector of the Italian economy".
Later, he added, “the world's largest shoe fair supports contacts between manufacturers and buyers. Although alternative opportunities to maintain business relationships in recent months have been developed , meeting at the fair still represents the most important opportunity for growth in the market and an irreplaceable way of doing business. Our companies have immediately adapted with health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of the contagion, and the same methods can be applied to ensure safety at the fair. We need to offer our member companies the greatest security at a time when they are suffering the economic repercussions of the emergency. For those who trust a future exit, the confirmation of MICAM is the best answer to the current doubts in the market”.

From the total of Italian and international footwear companies consulted, 75% expressed their willingness to participate in the next event in September. Many of them requested logistical and financial assistance, but most respondents emphasized the need for actions aimed at ensuring health and safety, and of course, they pointed out that the success of the fair will depend on the number of buyers who attend.
Precisely, to give a safe welcome to the visitors, MICAM together with Fiera Milano Rho, are working to offer the maximum security measures. The new standards and protocols in force will be implemented for business meetings to be held from now on, in this case, between exhibitors and buyers.
